How and where do I submit my spell?
You can design your spell and test it out this month. The instructions for where to send the file will be shared with backers on November 1 (we want them to be judged anonymously, so there’s a step where we need them submitted with a particular subject line, etc).

Is this project doing more than just collecting all of the Deep Magic volumes together?
Yes, we compiling of all the generic Deep Magic volumes (up through Alkemancy). However, that underestimates the scope of this project by a ton.
Here’s how the book is being expanded with all-new material and updated work:
1) adding over 110 new spells by Jeff Lee, Wolfgang Baur, Steve Winter, and others, including some from Warlock, from Margreve, and from Empire of the Ghouls. 2) removing the weakest or most niche spells, the ones that rarely or never will see play, 3) correcting language and balance issues, 4) adding entire new spell sets like Infernal Magic (if we hit that stretch goal), 5) adding new sections such as arcane servants and spell variants, 6) adding in all the playtest updates from the past few years, and 7) adding in probably 50 backer spells by the time the Kickstarter is done. We’ll see where it ends up on that front, of course; could be higher, could be less.
You can see the provisional table of contents on the Kickstarter page, and it is a downloadable PDF so you can dig into it that way as well.
This project is collecting those Deep Magic PDFs, but it’s also making something richer and better on that foundation.

Why does the Fantasy Grounds license show a Roll20 reward?
Entirely our mistake. We reviewed and double-checked the rewards, but somehow this escaped us. Rest assured that the Fantasy Grounds reward tier does indeed deliver a Fantasy Grounds license; we would not want it otherwise!

Why don't I get all of my PDFs at the same time?
PDF fulfillment will occur in two stages. For the products that are already released and purchased as add-ons, we will fulfill those immediately through BackerKit. However, for PDFs that are part of the Empire of the Ghouls KickStarter (the Empire Settings Guide PDF, Underworld Player’s Guide PDF, and Underworld Lairs PDF), we will be fulfilling those through the Kobold Press Store after they become available, which will align more closely to when we ship our printed products of the same item.

Are duties and taxes included in the shipping fees collected?
No. For Deep Magic, we’ve scaled back our efforts to include duty/tax/fee payments in our shipping rates to destinations outside of the US, with the exception of Canada. That means you may be required to pay appropriate duties, taxes, or fees on delivery/pickup. To limit this impact as much as possible, we’ve used graduated rates for shipping. Our intention is to get items to you with predictable rates. We’re using the United States Postal Service to ensure fixed rates and predictable expenses on our side. Thank you for understanding.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
